I can’t say enough about how much I like Casey Henry. My first experience with her was at a banjo camp. She watched a room of about 15 students picking the same thing and easily picked up me miss playing a single note.
There is so much more to playing a song than just remembering it. She helped me through the struggles of getting into and out of backup.
Her videos of individual songs are fabulous to learn from. So much like getting real instructions from a teacher you just don’t get the feedback.
If you are struggling to put it all together or just need a push in the right direction I highly recommend her as your teacher. Patient and kind.
I picked up a couple of things at her Banjo Camp that I use constantly now. Sometimes the simplest things make a great difference in your playing. For me it was knowing how to easily find relative chords and that they were the most likely used in a song if you didn’t know the chords.
Her music CD is simply fabulous. The breadth of her music and style is awesome.
I happen to be the lucky one who bought her signature model No-4. Absolutely love it. I have a few nice banjos. I probably play the No-4 most often.
What a great story! I think a lot of people have had similar experiences with Casey, which is why she is so highly thought of as a player, teacher, and person. Thanks for listening!
